At first glance it doesn't look so tough, but once in it, you realize that it's really tough getting back out, and even down requires dexterity

I got close. Close enough to see a lot of people down there, but had to turn back to the rim to catch that bus, and I knew it would be brutal going up.

Going up, there was no way for me to keep up with the sure-footed mules, but you see what I see. The native guide walks on the stone walls to avoid the treacherous sand. I tried this, but there are some areas where the walls are even more rugged than they look here, or are high above steep drops.

Meanhile, balancing on the walls, wherever possible, and this right here was a bit scary. At one point a family was slipping and sliding by, and I gave my camera to one of the young women in the group to take a picture of me. What was she thinking? Too funny. So, here is a rare shot of me blowing my nose.

This was what I had actually in mind.

Following the lead of the natives and balancing on the walls, got me to the top in about an hour. Much faster than anticipated. Which gave me some time to look around.
